Upcoming 1.0.8 Community Round Table

With our last community round table covering patch 1.0.7 being such a success we knew there would be more round tables in the future. That being said, the time has come for us to host another community round table to discuss the juicy patch 1.0.8 tidbits with you, our lovely listeners.

So, how do you, the listener, participate?

As with our previous patch 1.0.7 round table we will be holding our upcoming round table on Mumble, so make sure you have Mumble installed on your computer and go through the audio setup wizard if you haven’t already done so. (The wizard is pretty easy to follow and shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes to complete).

Next step is to check out the Patch 1.0.8 PTR Patch Notes and mayhaps install the PTR client so that you can get first hand experience with the changes coming in patch 1.0.8. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to download the PTR client nor time to spend testing it out, we always love hearing from multiple perspectives and value the thoughts of those on the “outside-looking-in”.

Note: If you still have the Patch 1.0.7 PTR client installed on your computer, open the launcher and the client should update to 1.0.8 (or at least in theory). 

So when will we be holding this Patch 1.0.8 Round Table?

Friday, April 26th at 6 PM Pacific / 9 PM Eastern

Make sure you clear your calendars on Friday, April 26th at 6pm Pacific / 9pm Eastern. More than likely we won’t start EXACTLY at this time as some “pre-show” will definitely occur to loosen everyone up.

It’s been awhile since we last had an interview on the show so we decided to pull in the two fine gents, Sibcoe and Dred. This dynamic duo has been responsible for the latest in the on-going series State of Diablo 3 by Red Team Gaming. Unsurprisingly the interview went far longer than we would include in a regular show so we are releasing it separately from the soon-to-be recorded episode 35.

Unfortunately Breja and Jen were unable to make it for the interview but Lanntonio and Nevik held down the fort and had an absolute blast talking with Sibcoe and Dred. Again, unsurprisingly, we meandered slightly off the “interview” and had some fantastic discussions about the game itself and the state that it is in. I know, crazy, right?

Round Table – Patch 1.0.7

Sometimes it is amazingly funny how Murphy’s law works. You’ll be recording a show and mention numerous times how you’re waiting on a certain piece of information only to have said information dropped on your lap after wrapping. Yes folks, we are of course referring to the deluge of Patch 1.0.7 information that emerged minutes after concluding our recording session of episode 32.

Not wanting to wait until our next episode to discuss all the gooey nuggets of patch 1.0.7 we decided that the best course of action would be to invite you, our dear listeners, to join us for our very first community round table … and it was a fantastic success!

Joining us for this round table was Chris (@CkRTech) from Armchair Arcade, Jesse (@theRealJFrench) aka Saintly Demon, Rho (@RhoWoW) from All Things Azeroth and Realm Maintenance, and fellow altoholic Smokimus (@Smokimus).

Listen on as we discuss the larger nuances of Patch 1.0.7, Jay Wilson’s departure from the Diablo 3 development team, what we feel is missing from the patch, and how always amazing Maghda was as a butterfly witch.

Upcoming Community Round Table

Almost immediately following us wrapping up episode 32 we were treated with the fabled preview blog of patch 1.0.7. Unfortunately for us that meant a HUGE nugget of really important information would have to wait until our next recording session in late January. Given the depth and importance of the changes being previewed, letting this information languish until then sure didn’t feel like a good idea.

So then it dawned on us, why not utilize our Mumble server and open up a round table discussion about patch 1.0.7 with you, the listener?

Good idea, right? We sure think so. By holding a community round table we can get more opinions and impressions of the changes coming in 1.0.7 from a wider variety of perspectives. This also allows us to be more timely with discussing this information while not bogging down our next episode with lots of 1.0.7 talk.

Oh sure, we’re certain the discussion will continue well in to the next couple of episodes, but we can all agree that a 2+ hour MEGA show would be unwieldy for everyone. So instead we’re going to try out a separate round table format and see how it is received.

Okay, so with all that being said, how do you, the listener, participate?

As previously stated, we’re going to be holding this patch 1.0.7 round table on Mumble, so make sure you have Mumble installed on your computer and go through the audio setup wizard if you haven’t already done so. Hopefully the PTR will be stable enough for some of us to have some first-hand experience with the changes, but we also want to have an “outside-looking-in” perspective on the round table as well.

Calling All Diablo Fanatics

Do you enjoy smashing demons in the face? Do you salivate over loot? Do you like hearing stories as well as telling them? Do you listen to podcasts? If the answer is yes to any (or all) of the previous questions you’re exactly who we’re looking for to help build a strong community.

Shattered Soulstone is first and foremost a community driven podcast -or at least that is what we’re aiming for- considering that Diablo-related news will likely be infrequent at best. While we are sure to discuss the latest news and share our in-game experiences, we would love to hear from you!

Share your memorable stories from Diablo I and II. Tell us what you’re looking forward to in Diablo III. Give us a bit of background of who you are as a gamer. Or if you have a Diablo-related blog you would like to pimp send that in too!

Share whatever you feel like. If you take the time to send something to us (be it audio, video or the written word) we will be sure to take the time to share it on the podcast.
